Missionaries we support
LCCC currently supports 17 missionaries in 11 different countries who are serving in areas of dire need. Here are just a few examples:
Stan & Sue Drew care for AIDS orphans and widows in Swaziland, which is considered the Ground Zero of the AIDS pandemic.
Mike & Kari Ness are completely devoted to children’s ministry in Tanzania, believing that reaching a generation at a young age will transform these children and ultimately their country.
Babu John is an Indian who started an orphanage, expanded to a school, vocational training, and now a bible college. Graduates from the college come out full of the Holy Spirit and completely committed to following Christ and sharing the gospel with their countrymen. They are going out as cross-cultural missionaries into the darkest area of India, the northern states, where there is virtually no Christian witness, and often at great personal risk. Babu visited Coeur d’Alene last May and told about one of his young missionaries who had gone into the north hoping to plant a church and was beaten nearly to the point of death. It was a miracle he survived. After a lengthy recovery, with over a month in ICU, Babu was counseling him on what his next placement might be. This young man was adamant that he return to “his people.” He was aware of the great risk, but said that even if they killed him, he prayed that God will use his blood for a greater witness.
Thank you for your Serve Pledge and thank you for your generosity.
It goes a long way around the world. I would encourage you too, to check the lobby display. We have prayer cards on each of our 17 missionaries with their contact info. You could initiate a dialogue via email, and support and encourage them in their work. You may even discover an opportunity for a Lake City team to go and minister with them in the field. They will be blessed by knowing that we remember them and honor their efforts to transform lives through Christ’s love.
